Event details

About

Art Tattoo Montreal is Quebec's flagship tattoo convention, held each August at the Grand Quai du Port de Montreal on rue de la Commune Ouest in Old Montreal and organized by Art Tattoo Quebec. The floor pulls artists from Japan, Brazil, France and Australia, working across traditional, Japanese, dotwork, realism and neo-traditional styles. Roster size depends on who is counting: the organizer advertises 300 or more artists, while Tourisme Montreal puts it at 200 or more.

For a working artist this is the main annual gathering in Francophone Canada, and the admission structure is built for walk-up volume rather than a trade-only crowd: $25 a day, $60 for the three-day pass, $15 for ages 15 to 17, and no charge for 14 and under. Competitions run alongside the floor. The international spread of the roster makes the weekend as useful for meeting artists outside your own market as for booking inside it.

What to expect

Best for

Artists in traditional, Japanese, dotwork, realism or neo-traditional who want the largest August floor in Francophone Canada alongside an international peer roster.

Notable: Quebec's flagship convention, staged on the waterfront at Grand Quai in Old Montreal.
