About
The St. John's Tattoo Convention is Newfoundland's long-running tattoo show, held each May at the RE/MAX Centre on Mayor Avenue and hosted by Trouble Bound Studio, the St. John's shop owned by Dave Munro. The 2026 edition announced 93 tattooists, drawn from across Canada.
For a working artist the geography is the whole story: Newfoundland does not sit on anyone's touring circuit, so the convention brings the mainland to an island client base that rarely gets access to it, and the local audience turns out accordingly. Competitions run across the weekend. Admission is $40 for a weekend pass bought online, or $20 at the door for a single day, which keeps the floor busy rather than filtered by price.
